There are several different types of HVAC certification, each with its own set of requirements. Here are some of the most popular certification programs:

  1. North American Technician Excellence (NATE)– This is the most well-known certification program for HVAC technicians. To earn NATE certification, candidates must pass a written exam and a hands-on performance test. To earn ACCA certification, candidates must pass a written exam and a skills demonstration. You should also have at least two years of experience working in the HVAC industry.
  6. Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HVAC-IC)– This organization offers certification for HVAC technicians who work in the Canadian market. To earn HVAC-IC certification, candidates must pass a written exam and a skills demonstration. You should also have at least two years of experience working in the HVAC industry.
  7. Gas Appliance Manufacturers Association (GAMA)– This organization offers certification for HVAC technicians who work with gas appliances.
