The Perfect Solutions in Cooling and Heating Solutions

Heating solutions for homeowners | Danfoss

To better understand the impact of home cooling systems (air conditioners, fans, etc.) on electricity consumption for the home, SosTariffe.it has carried out a specific study which, thanks to the analysis of the average energy prices detected by the comparator in May 2019, it allows you to have a precise idea on the expenditure that users will meet this summer. With the hvac Colbert GA you can find the best deals here now.

To combat the summer heat, in many Italian houses, several cooling devices are used, even simultaneously. The study examines the most common systems:

  • split air conditioner
  • multi split air conditioner
  • table fan
  • ceiling fan

For the calculation of the annual final consumption, expressed in kWh, linked to the cooling systems, the company highlighted three different usage profiles that correspond to the possible uses of these devices.

Light consumption: 200 hours of annual use for each system analyzed

Medium consumption: 300 hours of annual use for each system analyzed

Strong consumption: 500 hours of annual use for each system analyzed

The results of the SosTariffe.it study are summarized by the infographic below which shows the consumption and the related estimated costs for the various cooling devices and the main tips for saving.

The first part of the study highlights the costs and consumption of electricity for cooling a home depending on the device used. The analysis takes into consideration a Split Air Conditioner A +++, a Multi Split Air Conditioner A +++, a table fan and a ceiling fan.

The energy consumption expressed in the first table translates into an increase in the energy bill. A single Split A +++ air conditioner involves an average cost of 46 Euros for a “Strong” usage profile. Compared to a ceiling fan it is a good 36 Euros more. The difference is even more marked in the case of Multi Split air conditioner always with energy class A +++.

The importance of the energy class for an air conditioner

It is important to underline that using an air conditioner with a lower energy class will result in strength, even significant growth, in the costs associated with the device for all usage profiles. Switching from a model with energy class B to an A +++ allows you to save up to 129 Euros , click here for hvac Colbert GA

Split air conditioner: a model with energy class A +++ has an annual consumption ranging from 96.8 kWh to 242 kWh while a similar model with energy class B leads to a net increase in consumption, ranging from 368 kWh to 920 kWh per year depending on the usage profile. In economic terms, a model with energy class B involves an increased expenditure of between 52 euros and 129 euros

Multi Split air conditioner: The energy consumption of a model with energy class A +++ is equal to 142 kWh at 355 kWh per year while one with energy class B can consume from 282 kWh to 705 kWh per year, always depending on the usage profile. Choosing an energy efficient air conditioner (therefore A +++) allows you to save between 27 and 67 Euros per year.

How to reduce consumption and costs of air conditioners

The analysis of energy consumption related to domestic cooling and related costs allow us to highlight an important aspect of the issue. With a little attention, in fact, it is possible to optimize the functioning of your devices at best and, therefore, save money without giving up the possibility of refreshing your home effectively.
